Privacy

Short version: nothing here follows you, and nothing you do on the site leaves your browser except a single anonymous page hit.

What's kept in your browser

A few things are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. They are never sent anywhere, and nothing here can read them from any other site.

• Your palette — so the site looks the way you left it.
• Sound on or off — the mute toggle in the header.
• Achievements — which of the hidden bits you've found, when you found them, and how far along you are on the ones that count up to something.
• Your first visit — a single timestamp, so one of the achievements knows you've been back.

That's the whole list. There's no account, no login, and no identifier tying any of it to you.

The "Clear progress" button on the achievements page wipes the achievement side of it. Clearing site data in your browser settings removes the lot.

Analytics

Page visits are counted with a self-hosted copy of Matomo, running on my own server. It's set up without cookies and with IP addresses anonymised, so it counts pages rather than people. Nothing is shared with anyone, because there's nobody to share it with.

Unlocking an achievement sends one event — which achievement, and how many you've got. It's there so I know which of the hidden things people actually find. It doesn't identify you.

What doesn't happen here

No third-party scripts. No advertising, no trackers, no fingerprinting, no embedded widgets phoning home. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a CDN. Nothing you do gets sold, shared, or joined up with anything else.

Cookie banner

There isn't one, deliberately. The rules that make sites ask cover storage that isn't needed for something you asked for — tracking, profiling, third-party identifiers. What's saved here is your own settings and your own progress, on your own device, which is the sort of thing the rules exempt. Rather than ask you to click a box, I'd rather just tell you what's there, which is what this page is for.
